A documentary on the orangutans in the 'Orangutan Rehabilitation Center' in Bukit Lawang in Sumatra. It dates back to the early time of the rehabilitation center (1976) and shows the destruction of the tropical rainforest in north Sumatra, the habitat of the orangutans, the rescue efforts of the Swiss team of the rehabilitation center, the transport of the orangs to the station and their new life in the forest of Bukit Lawang.
